Perform relevant search queries
Google is a great starting point for your research. There are a number of search queries you can use to find guest blogging opportunities. Search for sites, and within sites you’ve already identified. These queries are:
[Your niche] “guest blog.”

[Your niche] “write for us.”

[Your niche] contribute.

[Your niche] “submit post.”

If you’ve already identified sites you’d like to contribute to, you can substitute the site name or URL for [Your niche]. For instance, [] “write for us.” Alternatively, you can use a tool like SiteComber to automate the process of finding deep links within a specific website.Find out where prolific bloggers in your niche contribute
Not every site will explicitly identify guest blogging opportunities. Sites that already receive many unsolicited pitches may not provide a process for applying to become a guest contributor, making the above queries ineffective

Build your social media presence
Next to having a place where potential partners can read your work and writing samples, your social media presence can be key in landing your next guest blogging opportunity. The blog or person you are looking to partner with wants to know what’s in it for them, if they can see you’re an influential person in the industry then right away you are a valuable opportunity for them. If they visit your Twitter or LinkedIn page and find an empty profile that hasn’t been updated in years, what are you bringing to the table?

Read and follow other blogs
Look to other blogs for inspiration and to help improve your own writing style. Following and reading other blogs will also help you seek out opportunities for guest blogging. Some people and blogs will post when they are looking for guest submissions, or from reading other posts on the blog itself you may be able to gather whether or not they usually accept posts from external writers.

unless you are already famous, you should start small. If you are not well-known in your industry, highly visible sites won’t jump at your offer to write an unsolicited post for them.

Identify your niche and stay in it.
Fill your own blog with high-quality content.
Focus on identifying blogs that have a good reputation in your industry.
Find similar blogs by searching for your niche title and the terms “guest submission” or “submit post.”
Contact blogs you are interested in writing a guest post for and explain your interest. Mention your niche or area of expertise, the topic you’d like to write about, and any related experience and skills. Give the sites the link to your own blog. In almost every case, the other blog owners will visit your blog to evaluate your writing ability and subject expertise before considering accepting your offer to serve as a guest blogger.Be aware that many websites use guest blogging solely to build links to their websites. Search engines penalize poorly written guest posts that are clearly meant to deliver backlinks only and not to benefit the reader. Avoid this by delivering high-quality, targeted posts. Use these same criteria when individuals contact you with offers to submit guest posts for your blog.

Connect with others in your industry
The biggest mistake you can make as a blogger is looking at all the other bloggers out there as competition as oppose to partnership opportunities. Guest blogging opportunities can be sitting right in front of you, without you even realizing it. If you follow a blog religiously, or think that you can offer something in the form of a guest post on their blog, reach out to them. When bloggers start working together as oppose to against each other, wonderful things begin to happen for the both of you.

Focus outside of your own blog
It is key to develop your own blog first, but find a way to balance spending your time on your blog, and looking for partnership opportunities and ways you can cross promote with other brands, blogs or bloggers. Guest blogging can be a great way to boost your own blogs presence, and also gain authority within the blogging space. The more places you can get your name (within reason) the better. Just be sure that the places you are focusing your time on outside of your own blog line up with your vision and goals.

Guest blogging is a way to open doors and can be a great chance for you to get yourself out there and establish yourself as an influencer and leader in your industry. So take time to develop your own blog, and then find a way that you can work with other blogs, and companies that will benefit the both of you.
