It all started when a news breakout that, a political data firm “Cambridge Analytica”, that worked on President Trump’s 2016 campaign accessed private data through the Facebook. The news has sparked an unusually strong reaction among its users.
According to the analytics service Export Tweets. #DeleteFAcebook appeared more than 10,000 times on Twitter within a two-hour period on Wednesday. Also, another analytics service “Digimind” on Tuesday, #DeleteFacebook was mentioned 40,398 times.
The biggest shock came when a co-founder of the WhatsApp messaging service “Brian Acton”. told his tens of thousands of followers on Tuesday to delete Facebook. Facebook acquired WhatsApp in 2014 in a $19 billion deal.
