Facebook has recently decided that it will limit the total number of ads displayed on a single page. It might sound a bit odd coming from a company like Facebook, which essentially is a company that runs ads as its primary business model. But Facebook believes this move was necessary as it will protect the money advertisers have to spend on ads.

According to Facebook, running multiple ads at a time might reduce the performance of how the platform optimizes each of these ads. The social giant believes that this move should only affect a limited amount of advertisers, and this ad cap should only exist till mid of 2020.

Facebook’s Official Statement:

In mid-2020, we are implementing a limit on the number of ads each Page can run at the same time. The ad limits will impact just a small percentage of advertisers, and we plan to share more details about the limits early next year.

Facebook mentioned when too many ads are running at the same time, just a few numbers of ads get out of the learning curve, and more than the expected budget of a client is spent.= even before the system can optimize the performance of the ad. All in all, facebook believes that running too many ads would lead to worse ad performances.
