According to a report, Twitter and Google inked a deal again which will result into tweets showing up in Google search results the moment they are posted. Thanks to the deal now all the Twitter users will have a larger audience than ever before.
Before, Google had to crawl through Twitter to collect information from the micro-blogging site but now Google will be given access to the Twitter ‘firehose’ making new tweets appear in Google searches instantaneously.
The similar deal existed in 2009 between Google and Twitter, which expired after two years i.e. in 2011, leading Twitter to cozy up with Microsoft and its search engine ‘Bing’. The company shares user data with Bing and Yahoo. Search Bing for a Twitter user’s handle, for instance, and several recent tweets from that user pop up in search results.Twitter confirmed the deal with Google but said it could offer no details on how the partnership would work. The company also made deals with Flipboard and Yahoo! Japan to show promoted tweets, CEO Dick Costolo said in an earnings call.

This deal with Google is even more significant for Twitter as it’s well known that growth signs in Twitter are slowing and given the California-based tech giant commands 75% of the web search market and remains the number one most-trafficked website globally. Twitter is keen to bring its content to more non-users of its service, which should help it to pull in more ad revenue.
According to Bloomberg, twitter has reached a deal with Google that will make tweets from its users-all 284 million of them-instantly searchable. It’s unclear from the report how the Google will affect deleted tweets.
The deal is yet another way for Twitter to expand its reach beyond the original service, a strategy that twitter chief financial officer Anthony Noto explained at the company’s Analyst Day event in November.
According to unknown sources, engineers from both companies have already begun work on this new integration, which shouldn’t take long as the similar deal existed from 2009 to 2011. Unlike current Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, who sees this arrangement as mutually beneficial, the former Twitter COO, Ali Rowghani, chose not to renew the deal to better control the content of the micro-blogging site.
Now all of your tweets, embarrassing or funny will be shown to the whole world so better think before you tweet.
