SimpliLearn Founder:
SimpliLearn was founded by Krishna Kumar in 2009. Krishna completed his Bachelor of Engineering degree from NIT, Surathkal, India. SimpliLearn Growth:
In 2009 SimpliLearn was launched as a blog that shared ideas on project management and offered PMP aspirants information about certification and professional training. Then in April 2010, they introduced a training program for PMP training which was blend of online and offline classroom training.
In 2011 SimpliLearn started to offer additional courses across categories like Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Project Management, Digital Marketing, and Data Science etc. Simplilearn now offers online training, blended classroom training and exam practice tests, in over 400 courses across 11 major categories. To date, the company has trained over 500,000 professionals in over 150 countries around the world.
SimpliLearn Funding:
SimpliLearn has raised around 28 million dollars from in 3 rounds of funding backed by 3 investors.
Series A: In Series A round of funding held in 2012 the company raised 3 million dollars.
Series B: Second round of funding held in September 2013, and company raised 10 million dollars from investors including Helion Venture Partners and Kalaari Capital.
Series C: Series C round of funding held in April 2015 ans SimpliLearn managed to raise 15 million dollars in this round from existing investors Helion Venture Partners and Kalaari Capital and a new investor Mayfield Fund.
Acquisitions:
On June 25 2015, SimpliLearn acquired an another online training provider of US named “Market Motive” in 10 milion dollars.
