Akshay Kumar invests in wearable fitness startup GOQii

Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar has joined GOQii company as an investor in Series C funding round and has invested an undisclosed amount.

Vishal Gondal, Chief executive GOQii, announced

Superstar Akshay Kumar also added that,

“I believe in the GOQii preventive health ecosystem, and am proud to be associated with such a passionate team. Health is not a short term goal and can be achieved by adopting a healthy lifestyle.”

The company has raised $43.4 Mn from investors- Mitsui & Co, DSG Consumer Partners, Edelweiss Financial Services, NEA, Cheetah Mobile and more.

GOQii is a Californian headquartered startup founded in 2014 by Vishal Gondal with offices in Mumbai and Shenzhen. The startup is a smart wearable, helps people track their steps, sleep, other physical activities, and more with its smart health ecosystem combines tools for personalised coaching, scheduling health checkups, and a health locker.

A GOQii Cash programme by the startup is to reward with cash and insurance discounts based on health management data. The fitness startup is aiming to grow 10 Million users by FY20, which now has a user base of about 2.7 Million.

The fitness startup visions about building a technology-enabled platform to guide and motivate people by making them help others as an agent of change.

GOQii has a global fitness trackers competitors like FitBit and China’s Xiaomi.
