Facebook is testing a toggle to turn off the in-app notification dots (red) on the home screen. Finally, users will get rid of that pressing curiosity in-app red dot notifications.

This red dotted feature appears in Groups and some other tabs in the Facebook application, which is quite a sickening feature it has got. Well, now with the testing of the feature, Facebook looks evener.

The social media titan said

“It’s related to the work we’re doing with the well-being team. We’re thinking about how people spend their time in the app and making sure that it’s time well spent.”

Jane Manchun Wong, a reverse engineering specialist, as usual, spilt the beans about Facebook Notification Dots setting in its prototype and also a social media consultant, Matt Navarra also noticed the feature had been tested publicly. The company confirms to TechCrunch media about testing the notifications settings.

“We are testing new ways to give people more control over the notifications they receive in the Facebook app.”

Users who have access to feature test can find the option with the three-lined menu tab.
Go to Settings and Privacy > Settings > Notifications > Notification Dots

In the notification dots, you can choose the particular dot to be turned off from the given options- Videos on watch, Profile, Groups, and Menu. The Notification Settings page lets you turn off sound for notifications.
