Spacetech startup Pixxel has raised fundings for an undisclosed amount in the pre-seed round from growX Ventures and other significant angel investors including Raju Reddy, Pawan Sarda, and a few others.

Bengaluru-based Pixxel was co-founded by Kshitij Khandelwal and Awais Ahmed in 2018. The duo was part of the BITS Pilani official nanosatellite team; they were one of the finalists at the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition held in 2017.

Pixxel is manufacturing the first satellites and will be launched by the end of the year. The company is building remote sensing satellites to launch into space to identify minerals, water etc. on Mars, Moon, and Asteroid belt.

“Our vision when we started was to build a world-beating company out of India that would operate at the cutting edge of space technology and contribute meaningfully towards space exploration.”

Sheetal Bahl, Managing Partner, growX in a statement,

“Awais and Kshitij are the youngest, and among the most impressive founders, we have invested in. They are envisioning the creation of a solution to capture high-resolution information of every location on the planet.

This will enable them to monitor ever-changing situations that influence the environment, the economy, the security of nations, and help governments and organisations make smarter day-to-day operational decisions.”

growX Venture is a tech-focused early-stage venture fund and a B2B. The Venture has invested in around 25 companies so far.
