SHI aka Sustainable Health Initiative is a six-month interdisciplinary accelerator programme facilitated for young and early-stage startups by Yale Institute for Global Health. Around 10 startups will be selected every year in a five-year period for the programme focusing on healthcare innovations.

The selected startup will receive $70,000 in seed funding, mentorship from the faculty, benefits from a group of Indian industry experts.

Sten Vermund Dean, Yale School of Public Health, said,
“SHI will be a unique opportunity to nurture fresh ideas and provide real support to innovative approaches and business opportunities that will address our most pressing health challenges.”

The programme also includes designed sessions to assist startups in progressing in a sustainable and scalable business model building a global network with their go-to-market techniques. Startups who apply to the programme will be screened on a specific basis like whether their solution is affordable, robust, and addressing pressing healthcare issues in India and other expanding economies.
