In September 2011 Tapzo raised seed capital of 200 thousand dollars and started its operation. Later in July 2014 in the first round of funding Tapzo raised 5 million dollars from Sequoia Capital. Then again in May 2015, the company raised 16 million dollars from the same investor Sequoia Capital.
