Bhavish Aggarwal was born on 28th August 1985 in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. He was from a middle-class family. His height is around 5 foot and 9 inches and also he got a dashing personality. He is also known as the best-looking entrepreneur in India. Earlier years of his life, his birthday was celebrated in a typical manner with his family. But as he had grown up, he started partying along with his friends. Now he is one the CEO of one the biggest start-ups and among the richest people in India, he throws lavish parties and invites his celebrity friends to his birthday.
He was graduated from Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Bombay in 2008 with a Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Although he studied computer science, he was interested in building strategies, marketing products and sales too. He lives in Bangalore now. Coming to his family, his father name is Naresh Kumar Aggarwal and his mother name is Usha Aggarwal. His family was always on his side after he left his job at Microsoft Research, where he worked for two years, only to start Old Cabs. He was 25 years old when he started OLA Cabs along with his co-founder Ankit Bhati, during 2011, in Mumbai.
Coming to his personal life, he gets very less time to spend on his personal life. Now as he is married to his long-time girlfriend Rajlakshmi Aggarwal and got his family to take care of, the responsibility is even more. About his wife, she was Bhavish Aggarwal girlfriend for many years. His marriage happened in a much-closed ceremony where only his family members and close friends were invited. Any other way, He likes to spend his time reading and travelling on most of the occasions whenever he gets spare time.

Bhavish Aggarwal started his career just like normal engineer after completing his studies from his institute in India, IIT-B. He also went to work with Microsoft Research, which is the biggest software company in the world. He did some remarkable work at the company Microsoft Research and had two patents to his name. Talking about popularity, he also published some highly knowledgeable articles in international journals which gave him a huge popularity in the tech world. But it was not enough for his as he always wanted to do something of his own. In 2010, after two months he left his job at Microsoft Research to start something of his own.
In January 2011, he co-founded OLA Cabs with his College mate Ankit Bhati in Mumbai. By 2015, Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati were the youngest that were included in the year’s list of richest Indians. The company became successful and is currently the largest start-up in India. In the cab aggregator space, OLA is the biggest competitor than UBER in India.

The Story Behind Ola Cabs
One day a man had to travel from Bangalore to Bandipur, so he rented a car for over the 200km journey. But the driver stopped the car at mid-way and asked for more money than the previous deal. The man denied to pay him more money and also refused to agree to his terms and conditions. As a result, the driver abandoned him and left him in the middle of the route. He was in all sorts of troubles then. But by looking at the situation the man didn’t complain but he came up with a thought. This is when the man realized how his problem was probably similar to a lot of customers across the country that was looking for quality cab services but it always ended up with an experience that was horrible for every people, like most of the times. For the first time, the man saw an amount of potential for the extraordinary online cab booking service could have, and hence, he founded a company. Today the valuation of OLA Cabs Company is 3.5 billion USD which is more than 22 thousand crores in Indian Rupees. The company is known as OLD Cabs and the man is Bhavish Aggarwal.
It was in December 2010, where Bhavish Aggarwal was joined by his co-founder Ankit Bhati and ANI Technologies Pvt Ltd in his start-up journey. The idea of cabs was not new to the Indian market then, and there already were players like Fast track and Radio Taxi services in every city in the country. The Ludhiana born young man Bhavish Aggarwal got his B-tech degree in Computer Science from IIT Bombay in 2008. His career started from Microsoft Research and he continued working for the next 2 years. During his time at Microsoft, he filled two patents and published three papers in international journals. He had also turned into a blogger and founded his own website called Desitech, in which was mainly focused at technologies which again were inclined towards the Indian scenario. But by 2010, Bhavish Aggarwal left Microsoft because he wanted to start an online company which dealt into the selling of short duration tours and holidays. Like every starting entrepreneur, his parents too didn’t support his new venture as well, they though their child left Microsoft to become a ‘travel agent’. But by then everything changed when Bhavish and his IIT mate Ankit started getting their first round of angel investments. They went on to partner with a long range of Taxi Drivers, and all he did was a touch of modern technology to the whole thing through which consumers could book cars at a short notice via their call centres or via their app.
Bhavish very smartly had taken only cars which had an All India permit and used to run them both inside as well as outside the city. And also they provided the unique and budgeted plans which they offered, to grab the customers attention. But more than all what helped was the technology and smartphones. Bhavish thought it would only become easier for the consumer to connect without any hassle, through Smartphone’s and with the help of such ahead of its time and long-term strategies the company OLA Cabs began to grow at the speed of air. By 2014, across 100 cities there were more than 200,000 cars by the company. Additionally, OLA Cabs were also making an average of more than 150,000 bookings per day. Their strategy was to not leave any stone unturned; to attend customer calls to driving a passenger to the airport while managing the operations, they did everything.
Later OLA Cabs bought Taxi For Sure or TFS in March 2015 for about 200 million USD. The company who so far only had worked with Drivers had now also begun working with cab operators. Eventually, they had launched schemes like ‘Cashless Rides’, ‘12/km rides’, ‘Auto rickshaws and Kaali-Peeli Taxis as well. Even customers could order food, grocery, vegetables etc by “OLA.
