About AEON Learning 

AEON Learning Private Limited (AEON) is an ed-tech startup that offers a range of options for working professionals ranging from management degrees from prestigious universities to leading-edge technology skills taught by highly specialized mentors through its platform “Avagmah”. Avagmah is an online technology platform which provides exceptional student experience. Founded in 2013 by Karthik KS, Vikalp Jain the startup is headquartered in Bangalore.

Karthik Kadampully

Karthik Kadampully is the founder and CEO of AEON Learning. He went to NIT Kurukshetra for his bachelor’s degree and SP College of Management, New Delhi for his business studies. Karthik also runs an NGO, www.tveshafoundation.org to educate and put to school/college a few more children who also would have otherwise entered the manual labor industry. Before Avamagh Karthik has also founded another e-learning platform “24×7 Learning”.

Vikalp Jain

IIT Bombay Alumnus Vikalp Jain is the Co-founder and President “AcadGild” Which later merged with Avamagh and became AEON Learning. Prior to co-founding AcadGild, he worked as CTO at FlipClass, Vikalp was leading the development of next-generation learning tools. Set up entire tech team at FlipClass.

AEON Learning Fundings

AEON learning was Set up with a seed investment of Rs 1 crore. The startup has become the investors favorite immediately and has raised Rs 62 crore in funding till date. The latest being Rs 20 crore earlier this year from MEMG Family Office, a fund set up by Ranjan Pai, chairman of Manipal Education and Medical Group.

Other prominent investors in AEON Learning are Vinod Dham, Kris Gopalakrishnan, Atul Nishar Lionrock Capital, Zodius Capital and Jupiter Capital.

AEON Learning Business Model

AEON Learning has partnered with several universities to offer higher education courses online and has become a leading player in the online education industry. Besides long-term academic courses, it also offers short-term skill development programmes. In November 2017, Bengaluru based AEON Learning acquired Acadgild, another online learning firm. Acadgild’s founders, Vikalp Jain and Rahul Jain, have since joined AEON Learning as co-founders.

AEON Learning now reaches out to 22,000 students across 66 countries, found it tough to get its solution accepted by educational institutes.

AEON Learning Revenue

AEON Learning has a staff of 135 members, the startup has registered a revenue of Rs 13.65 crore in 2016-17 and expects to increase it to more than Rs 30 crore in 2017-2018. The startup is further looking to partner with more universities, bring new courses on its platforms, and expand geographically.
