Facebook has launched a new creator studio app for Android and IOS devices. This is the mobile version of their creator studio tool that’ll allow people to manage their Facebook pages on the go.
The app will allow you to manage and edit posts on your page, check how they are performing via analytics and reply to messages. And you’ll be able to manage multiple pages with the app.
Facebook explained:
“The app is an evolution of and mobile complement to Creator Studio, the desktop hub dedicated to helping creators and publishers manage their content, track performance, and connect meaningfully with their audiences on Facebook. The new experience offers the same actionable insights and meaningful engagement metrics, all from the ease of a mobile device.“
Facebook launched a similar app in the past with the name ‘Mentions’ in 2014. But the app was shut down in March last year. This new app comes with an updated interface with better posting capacity. But there are some limitations.
At the moment users are not able to create new posts and upload any content via the app. Users need to create posts on Facebook first, then either save or schedule them.
Considering this is a mobile app, not being able to create posts or upload content is a significant limitation. But the app is meant to be a mobile complement for managing your Facebook page. It’s not supposed to act as a standalone management interface. There might be a possibility that Facebook might add this functionality in future. Though the app will no doubt be a valuable tool for Facebook page managers.
