The social media giant, Facebook’s CFO David Wehner said it will launch ‘clear history’ feature later this year, on Tuesday.

Facebook announced in early 2018 that the feature will allow users to see information about apps and other sites they’ve searched for and can delete the information from their user accounts. Wehner stated that the feature will make it tough for third parties to target ads to users.

Wehner at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference 2019 in San Francisco said that,
“Broadly, [clear history is] going to give us some headwinds in terms of being able to target as effectively as before.”

Mark Zuckerberg in a Facebook post said, “Once we roll out this update, you’ll be able to see information about the apps and websites you’ve interacted with, and you’ll be able to clear this information from your account. You’ll even be able to turn off having this information stored with your account.”

Zuckerberg announced the feature at the F8 conference in 2018, describing how feature as “a simple control to clear your browsing history on Facebook – what you’ve clicked on, websites you’ve visited, and so on.”

Hope the feature rolls out soon!
