Walmart-owned Flipkart on Earth’s Day announced the launch of its second green data centre in Hyderabad to strengthen its e-commerce business.

The data center in Telangana is one of India’s largest private cloud deployments that is mainly built to support its business expansion after the Walmart acquisition.
As per Flipkart, the new serves accommodate the expected roll in the number of sellers and partners by improving the speed and quality on its platform for nearly 500 million new customers in India over the next decade.
Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary IT & Commerce for Telangana in a statement
“Telangana was the first state to come out with a dedicated policy on data centers and to see such encouraging results is very satisfying for all of us. Their (Flipkart’s) investment and commitment to the business will further strengthen Telangana as the first choice of IT and Tech companies to not only scout for talent but for further strengthening their technology infrastructure establishments as well. The technology infrastructure support we have created in Telangana in collaboration with the industry allows for stronger technology solutions and support for businesses as well as provides for a better future for our youth.”
After Mumbai, Hyderabad is considered as the most secure place for data storage to keep their data in separate locations. The city also noted for the BSE stock exchange’s second data server.
