It’s no secret that Instagram is among the best platforms you can use today to market your brand. From small businesses to big players in the game, every brand is trying their best to pull in more customers from the platform.

But to master your marketing strategies on the platform, first, you must master the platform. Here are some of the best tips we have researched that should help you sharpen your insta skills.

Post at the Right Time

Though you’ll find users active throughout the day on Instagram, there is still a perfect time to post on Instagram. If you are aiming for maxim engagement, then try posting around 3 to 4 pm on Monday & Thursday. Time your posts according to zones of the audience you are trying to target. It’s common for people to use Instagram when people are free from work, like weekdays, etc.

Link Instagram With Facebook

One of the best things Instagram offers compared to other platforms is being able to share the content you have created across different platforms. But that doesn’t mean you should link all other platforms with Instagram, since the posts that work on Instagram, might not be ideal for twitter or Facebook. This is why you should optimize your content for each platform.

Though, if you do link your Instagram account with other platforms, such as Facebook, you will definitely see a lot more views on your posts. Keep in mind, if you are creating an Instagram business profile for your brand, your account will be linked to Facebook already.

But in case it’s not, the steps are really easy to do. All you have to do is go to your Instagram settings, click on ‘Account’ then find the option “Linked Accounts” and click on it. There you’ll have options to link various accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Ameba, etc. Select Facebook and choose the page you want to link your account with. Then you’ll see the Facebook logo under the ‘share settings’ menu. If it’s blue in color, it indicates that sharing is on.

Check What You’ve Liked

It’s easy to see what posts you have liked in the past on Instagram. To do this, go to your Instagram setting by clicking on the 3-dots menu on the top right corner of your profile. Then click on ‘Accounts and then ‘Posts You’ve Liked’. This should open up all the posts you liked in the past. Pretty easy isn’t it!

Reorder Filters

You can reorder the filter position that you have been using the most. Open the editor and scroll to the right, you’ll see a ‘Manage’ icon. Click on manage and you will see a page that will allow you to reorder the filters by dragging them by holding the three lines. If you want to hide a filter, just uncheck the one you don’t want to use.

Add More Lines in Captions

While writing a caption, you won’t be able to see an enter button on the keyboard which allows you to move to the next line. But you can still hack your way into it. To do this open your keyboard while on the caption screen and press the numbers button (‘123’) on the left and the enter button should appear on the keyboard. But keep in mind that you can only see the first three lines in a caption when the post will be live. So, make the lines count.

Hide Tagged Posts

If you have been tagged in a post, it will be visible to you and your followers on your profile. If you want to remove and hide a post that you don’t like, just open that photo and click on the options button on the top right corner. From there click on ‘Photo Options” and then select ‘Remove Me from Post’ which will remove the rag completely and hide the post from your profile. If you just want to hide the photo, click on ‘Hide from My Profile’, which will only hide the post but won’t remove the tag.

If you don’t want to be tagged unnecessarily by anyone, you can choose to manually approve tags once someone tags you. To do this, just go to the settings, then click on ‘Privacy’ and then click ‘Tags’. You’ll find a toggle that will let you manually approve tags.

Save Posts

This one is a handy trick that can be pretty useful. If you’ve liked a post and want to refer back to it later, you can save them by clicking on the ribbon icon that appears on the bottom right of a post. To access all the saved posts, just click on the hamburger menu on the top right and click on the ‘Saved’ option. There you’ll be able to every post that you saved in the past.

You can also build custom collections based on different categories. Just click on the plus icon on the top right and choose the images that you want to add to a new collection and click next. Enter the collection name and click add.
