About Grab

Grab, India’s first and foremost on demand last mile logistics service platform that delivers food to businesses and merchants. The services are utilized by restaurants, e-commerce retailing companies, food tech platforms, banks, pharmacies, and more.

Founders

Grab is formerly called as “Grab A Grub” launched in 2013 by the trio Jignesh Patel, Nishant Vora, and Pratish Sanghvi. The food tech logistic startup is India’s first company to offer a tech-abled delivery solution to the businesses.

The tech platform has built an expansive fleet of bike riders that move products in a hyperlocal region and as well as intracity deliveries through their four-wheeler network.

Working and Services

The tech-based Grab integrates APIs or provides app by enabling the customers to place an order, pick requests, and notifies with the updates until the product/order is delivered. Then the order is assigned to a rider to picks it up from the client’s venue and dispatches the product to the end customer.

Its services include:

  • A rider arrives for pickup less than 15 minutes.
  • The GrabEx category is operated for grocery platform, pharmacy, and retail outlet and pickup slots for deliveries within 2 hours.
  • Doorstep authentication and pickup of returned and subsequent product delivery are also provided.

In the raging competition, Grab fought against the various verticals by focusing on sector-agnostic approach. The ecosystem ensures that the riders are available even at the odd timings or off season.

Today, the team has grown to over 4000 riders and about 175 employees. The startup is present in 38 cities in India.
