Age doesn’t matter when comes to achieving success. We have heard a lot that if someone wants to be famous it may be in any industry, one can only achieve from their early 20’s until late 30’s. After that, it is highly impossible to be. Not all people found success in their teens or early age. There are many people who found success in their 40’s and proved the above fact as false. Particularly in the business industry, these people have proved that age doesn’t matter for one to achieve his goal and become successful. What actually a person needs is not age but experience and determination to make their dreams come true.

1. Lynda Susan Weinman:

Lynda Susan Weinman co-founded Lynda.com at the age of 40. She is an American business owner, computer instructor and an author. Lynda.com is an online software training website with her husband, Bruce Heavin. Her website Lynda.com online training library teaches computer skills in video format to the members who have subscribed to it based on monthly and annual plans. She has the business in 1995 as a way to communicate with her students. She later sold her online learning platform Lynda.com to LinkedIn for $1.5 billion and stock in May 2015. Microsoft acquired LinkedIn in 2016 for $26 billion.

2. Bob Parsons:

Bob Parsons, an American entrepreneur has started GoDaddy in 1997 when he was 47 years old. Godaddy wasn’t his first company but before that, he has started Parsons Technology, a Tax Software company. His company Godaddy became known for their racy super bowl adds. He sold a majority stake in 2011 to private equity investors KKR, Silver Lake, TCV which went public in 2015. He now owns shopping malls, motorcycle dealerships, and a golf club. He quoted “In business, you wind up trying a lot of things, most of which won’t work. The way you become a business person is to fail, fail, fail and fail”.

3. Charles Ranlett Flint:

Charles Ranlett Flint was the founder of the computing-tabulating-recording company when he was 61 which later became IBM. He launched IBM-International Business Machines Corporation at the age of 74 in 1924. It has started in the US and since then has conquered the world. In 1871 he entered the shipping business as a partner in Gilchrest, Flint&co. From 1876 to 1879 he served as the Chilian concern at NewYork city. His biggest achievement was when the International Business Machine went on to dominate the computer industry in the US for several years.

4. Robert Noyce:

 

Robert Norton Noyce nicknamed “The Mayor of silicon valley” was an American physicist who co-founded Fair child semi-conductor in 1957 and Intel Corporation in 1968. He got succeed when he co-founded Intel at the age of 41. He is known as a technologist and a leader. He was a man of many interests. He flew planes, sang madrigals and skyed tremendous slopes. He was a tinkerer, an, an, and a true visionary.

5. Henry Ford:

 

Henry Ford is the sixth wealthiest figure of the modern period. He quoted “A business that makes nothing but money is a poor business’. He was an American captain of industry and a business magnate. In the age of 45, Henry Ford founded the motor company. Although FFord did not invent the automobile or the assembly line he developed and manufactured the first automobile that many middle-class Americans can afford.

6. Momofuku Ando:

Momofuku Ando was a Taiwanese-Japanese inventor and businessman born in imperial Japanese-Taiwan who founded Nissin food products co. ltd. The Taiwanese entrepreneur at 48 years had invented the food that would eventually become a staple for everyone all over the world which was the instant Ramen noodles.

7. Harland David Sanders:

Harland David Sanders, the founder of Kentucky Fried chicken which is known as KFC. Who doesn’t know KFC? But the person behind the invention of KFC is Harland David Sanders. He was an American businessman who created the recipe of KFC when he was 62 years old. Today, KFC has over 18,800 outlets in 118 different countries and territories.

8. Reid Hoffman:

Reid Hoffman is the founder of LinkedIn, a major social network at the age of 43. After he had graduated from Stanford, he started his own networking site called as social net but he never got success even after tying advertising through magazines and newspapers.  Later he left it and joined PayPal. In 2002 he left his position and co-founded LinkedIn. He was 43 when the company went public. He is well known as an American internet entrepreneurs venture capitalist and author. His network according to Forbes 2018 is 330 crores USD.

9. Gary Heavin:

 

Gary Heavin is a Texas businessman. He is the founder and chairman of fitness chain Curves International. At the age of 20, he dropped out of college and took over a failing fitness center in Texas. He was a millionaire at the age of 25 and lost it at the age of 30. He then started his second innings after learning from his mistakes and became the success by establishing fitness center named as curves. He was 40 when he started mid-life entrepreneurs.

10. Donald  Fisher:

Donald Fisher co-founded Gap store at the age of 41. He and his wife opened their first Gap store on Ocean Avenue in San Francisco. Back then, they only sold Levi’s jeans. Later their company has quickly expanded to new locations and locations and then it introduced their own denim label. He was not only an American businessman but also a philanthropist. According to Forbes magazine, his net worth was estimated to be US$ 3.3  billion.
