Unacademy, an ed-tech startup gets $50 million in Series D funding round from existing investors Steadview Capital, Nexus Venture Partners, Sequoia India, and Blume Ventures.
Other investors include Haptik co-founder Aakrit Vaish and Sujeet Kumar co-founder Udaan. The founders of startup Gaurav Munjal and Roman Saini also participated.
Before this funding, the company has raised $21 million in series C round in July 2018. Now the total funds have increased to $88.6 million.
As per the company, the funding will be used to onboard more educators, enhance multiple exam categories, build a product, and team.

Bengaluru-based Unacademy was founded in 2015 by Gaurav Munjal, Roman Saini and Hemesh Singh. The platform has 10,000+ registered educators with 13 million users. The startup has acquired Jaipur-based online education and career portal Wifistudy, one of the popular education YouTube channels.

The platform has recently launched its Plus Subscription and has more than 50,000 learners subscribed to Unacademy Plus. It is a subscription platform available for more than 20 exam categories and renders students unlimited access to live courses by educators.
The ed-tech platform group includes various platforms like Unacademy Plus, Wifistudy, Chamomile Tea with Toppers, Unacademy Studios and The Solutionists.
