Snapdeal once again booked for selling fake products. Earlier funds from Anand Piramal has not got a lot of attention to clear the reputation problem of Snapdeal.
Now a new case has been charged on founders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal in Kota, Rajasthan. The company got sued by a local congress leader who alleged that he received fake products. The founders were booked under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code.
On July 17, Congress spokesperson, Indramohan Singh Honey has ordered a Woodland belt and wallet, he doubted about the authenticity of the product and took products to Woodland showroom. The showroom approved that it is a duplicate product that got delivered. Mr Singh also complains that he had a past bad experience with Snapdeal.
Snaldeal Phoney product issues growing strong
The startup has also been accused of selling duplicate products to customers and sellers. Fastrack also accused the company of selling duplicate products.
Another Japanese electronics maker, Casio, also faced the counterfeit issues of selling watches and calculators, which are not a product of their company.
In 2017, the Skechers US footwear brand also filed cases against the startup in Delhi HC for selling fake products online.
